Getting Started

First of all, this guide has the objective of documenting the proDuke's new mapping features. It's not the objective here to explain how to map for duke in general. If you need help regarding that, I recommend checking The Duke Nukem 3D Informational Suite. Assuming you already have a relativelly new version of Mapster32 on your pc, all that you have to do to make maps using proDuke's resources is to copy
produke.grp
(from proDuke's folder) as well as all files from the zipped download below into you Mapster32 folder and everything will be ready. Do that and when you open Mapster32 the proDuke resources (new sprites/textures and palette swaps) will always be loaded automatically. The same will happen with the helper subroutines for repetitive tasks that we implemented via
produke.m32
, meaning it won't be necessary to open the console and do the include manually everytime you want to map.
If you need to get Mapster32, you can do so on the EDuke32 website (it comes included with EDuke32).
