This is done to prevent players from abusing full-bright tiles which would give them an unfair advantage in online modes. To disable this, you have to run the game with the custom argument
/exploitmode
. Everyone in the match will be prompted at the console to accept playing with this argument enabled.By running the game in exploit mode, not only it will load any custom ART files in the directory, but it will also enable a known hack that sets the whole map's visibility to zero.
