Catch The Flag (CTF)

In this mode, the team will score a point when one of its players brings to their base the captured enemy flag. The place to deliver a captured flag is the initial spawn position of your team's flag. If your flag is not in its initial position (it was captured), it won't be possible to "deliver" the enemy flag to score a point. In that case, it's necessary to recover your team's flag first. Killing other players does not add or subtract points from the team. Each team has it's own flag:

BLUE FLAG

RED FLAG

GREEN FLAG

BROWN FLAG

Arrows pointing to each flag are displayed in the bottom right corner of the screen.

If the netflag

is enabled, the game will display arrows at the corners of the screen pointing to the flag when it gets out of view. This can be disabled individually at the menu

Options > Game Options > Offscreen Markers

If the flag is being carried by someone that isn't yourself, a hand icon with that player's color will be displayed on top of the flag icon.

If the flag is being carried by yourself, a duke face icon will be displayed.

TAKEN BY YOURSELF

The flag is dropped on the floor when the player carrying it dies or if the player is shrinked. By default, the flag returns to its original position when an allied player touches it or when it stays dropped on the ground for 30 seconds. If the flag is dropped on a damaging floor (lava/acid/rail/purple lava), the period is reduced to a mere 5 seconds. That timer will be displayed on top of the flag icon.

Optionally, by enabling the netflag

Netplay Options > NetFlags > [CTF] Flag Returns Instantly

the flag will return instantly after being dropped. It's also possible to set the flag to auto detonate after 30 seconds of being carried (which will kill the carrying player, forcing the flag to be dropped), just like in Shadow Warrior. To do that, enable the netflag

. Deppending on the map balance, it may also be interesting to restrict the usage of steroids and/or jetpack by the player carrying the flag. You can set these options by enabling the netflags

Netplay Options > NetFlags > [CTF] No Steroids if with Flag

and

Netplay Options > NetFlags > [CTF] No Jetpack if with Flag

, respectively.
